QUESTION: Why is it taking so long to open?
ANSWER:
It takes time to be really fresh.
Harvest Fresh Market is committed to offering the freshest, healthiest foods from Indiana family farms. It has taken a great deal of time and effort to visit the farms, establish personal relationships with the farmers and set up direct supply lines with them. We hope you will appreciate the effort; we know you will be able to taste the difference.
QUESTION: Will your food be really expensive?
ANSWER:
No. Our goal is to provide you with fresh, healthy, nourishing, tasty foods from local family farms at a value price. We all know that it does cost more money to grass-feed beef in open pastures without the use of artificial hormones and growth stimulants. It does cost more money to raise chickens and produce eggs when you limit the flock size and use environmentally sound farming methods. It does cost more money to grow fruits and vegetables using sustainable, chemical free farming practices. However, we save money by:
1. Buying local we will minimize transportation and handling costs (we will also be reducing our carbon footprint), and;
2. Buying direct from the farmers we eliminate the middle man.
We expect some of our prices will be a little higher than supermarket ads, but some will also be lower. We know all of our products will be priced fairly and will offer you the best value for your food dollar.
