Dear Neighbors,
As many of you already know, recently one of our neighbors in The Village lost their home in a terrible home fire. Thankfully, the family escaped safely. However, in addition to the sadness of losing their home and belongings, their hearts were broken as their two dogs did not survive. They did all they could to rescue Maggie and Marley, but ultimately they had to endure the pain and suffering of knowing that they couldn't get to them. With the help of The Hamilton County Humane Society some of your neighbors have started a “Maggie and Marley Memorial Mission” to raise money for a plaque honoring the lives of the family pets. For a total contribution of $2,000 the shelter will permanently display a kennel plaque in memory of the Warzniaks’ much-loved pets.
Donations can be made by mail (a donation form is in the works), directly to the shelter at the address below, or you can make a credit card contribution by phone by calling the number below. Make sure however you donate that you indicate your donation is for the “Marley and Maggie Mission”. Any donations received in excess of the amount needed for a kennel plaque will be applied to the shelter’s Moore/Life fund, which pays for life-saving medical and surgical treatments for shelter animals in need.
While the past can't be undone, the hope of sending the family healing thoughts by honoring the memory of their pets while helping other local pets is possible. Feel free to donate what you like...no amount is too small and it will certainly be appreciated. For all who know them, are acquainted with them, or just want to show support for a neighbor you may not have met, you are invited to participate. NO ONE is obligated to participate.... This is just an opportunity to show the family and the animals that will benefit from the donations made in Maggie and Marley's name that people care about them and are wishing them well.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Thanks so much,
Jane Justus (janiejustus@yahoo.com), Elaine Ward (thewardfam@gmail.com), and Dana Polizzi
